About Collie Dogs

Recollect that the Almighty, who gave the dog to be companion of our pleasures and our toils, hath invested him with a nature noble and incapable of deceit.    - Sir Walter Scott

Collie dogs at Quaker Farm are uniquely bred, raised and trained for  specific purposes.  That is why we refer to our rough Collies as being "purpose bred".  What this means is that the goal of our dog breeding program is to create exceptionally smart, family loyal, genetically diverse Collie dogs for:

  1. Families who want to share their lives with a well bred Collie.
  2. We also raise and train Collie dogs to be Service Dogs.
  3. Finally (and most importantly for our work on the farm), we train Collies who have herding ability and talent for farm work and assistance with livestock management.

All around, our dog breeding training programs are unique in the world of Collies. We do not raise smooth Collie dogs.
